The research conducted between October 2001 and January of 2002. The purpose of the research was to establish amongst the Clients of Bryan Design how they viewed the services of Bryan Design.
Clients' with the required net worth know that professionalism and expertise are not a whim, but a talent coupled with a professional standard. Therefore, these Clients will seek out ''Interior Designers'' who have an established professional reputation.
In this context, the professional has the edge over the non-professional (Interior Decorator) who is a person with taste. In addition, as taste is so very subjective, potential Clients in this industry view their personal taste as more valuable.
This being a fact, Clients appreciate and know that the additional costs of an Interior Designer is worth it, because the Interior Designer has the expertise to manage and work with architects, builders and landscapers.
As in the fashion industry, a dress is a dress, but a Fashion Designer's dress has an intrinsic value, irrespective of its color or cut. The same applies to the Interior Designer category, where the personal reputation and published works will carry a subjective value enhanced by a pure quality perception of its presentation.
