Survey Summary

The sixteen respondents with whom we spoke were, overall very knowledgeable based on their own experience of working with Interior Designers. Feedback received appeared to be thoughtful and insightful.

There is no question that Mary Ann Bryan's work is respected and that each of these clients experienced a positive working relationship with her. Based on the quality of her designs and her expertise in the field, no client would fail to recommend Mary Ann to others.

One of the most important takeaways from this research was the strong desire by the clients to contribute ideas, tastes, possessions, likes and dislikes to the design process. Respondents were adamant that the finished design project should reflect their own tastes and lifestyles. They understood that a professional Interior Designer possessed skills and resources unavailable to them, and respected and appreciated that fact, but wished to work with a designer who could sublimate her own tastes and preferences in favor of those of the client. Tailoring designs to each client also included having the ability to tactfully educate the client when his or her ideas clashed with accepted design principles. Mary Ann Bryan was perceived as outstanding in terms of incorporating client contributions into her work.

The methods through which most respondents became aware of Mary Ann's work were personal referrals and viewing her designs in a home setting, including both private homes or model homes/home shows.

Of the phrases offered, the two selected most often by these respondents as most descriptive of Mary Ann's work and experience were "Timeless beauty and order." and "Understated elegance for living." Two respondents mentioned elsewhere in the survey that they appreciated the timeless quality of her designs as opposed to being based on the decorating fashion of the moment.
